Running with the Angels 5K and 1 Mile Races
This event takes place on May 9, 2026 in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, with the Jim Thorpe Train Station listed as the event location. It is held in memory of a Marian High School freshman who was a member of the cross country and track teams; a family-established scholarship and nonprofit award student athletes who display team spirit and academic values. Donations toward the scholarship are accepted through the event.

Course and logistics: the 5K uses a 1.55 mile out-and-back segment on the Lehigh Gorge Trail, starting south out of the Jim Thorpe Train Station lot. The 5K walk follows the same course and begins about a half hour after the competitive 5K. Both the youth and adult 1 mile events use a 0.5 mile out-and-back segment.
Timing and awards: overall winners are scored by gun time while age group placings use chip time; chip time determines age group ranking. Age group finisher certificates are issued by email for the listed age categories for both distances. Parking options include street parking in Jim Thorpe and paid parking by the train station.
