39th Annual Lions Run for Sight
The Lions Run for Sight is a community event occurring at Masterson Station Park in Lexington, Kentucky. The 2026 edition marks the 39th year of this race, which utilizes an out-and-back course designed on paved roadway surfaces within the park. The event accommodates various participants, including runners, walkers, families with strollers, and leashed dogs.
The event features a single distance:
- 3.1 Miles (5 km)
Participants receive chip timing services and commemorative t-shirts. The race honors performance with awards for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in specific age groups. Participants can also access free race photography and a variety of door prizes, with 100 prizes planned for the event. Amenities include music, food, coffee, doughnuts, and fruit.
The race utilizes a team system where groups of five or more receive a registration discount. These "Vision Teams" compete for a prize awarded to the largest group.
Proceeds from the event support vision services in the Bluegrass community. This includes funding for the Kentucky Lions Youth Camps for vision-impaired youth, the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation, the purchase of eyeglasses for individuals in need, audio services for the blind, and the training of leader dogs.
Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event at the park or during an early window at a local athletic store in South Lexington. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
