Lightning Bolt 10k, Langley Burrell, Chippenham
The Lightning Bolt 10k takes place on Sunday 18 October 2026 near Langley Burrell, Chippenham. It is part of a five-race Lightning Bolt series held across the year.
The event is a measured 10 km road race on a low elevation course with an overall elevation change of approximately 14 metres. The course is officially measured and registered with UKA Run Britain, and chip timing is used. Distance markers are placed every mile and event photography is provided.
Club and team competition is a prominent feature. Awards include a mixed team prize based on the top four male and top four female category positions, plus fastest male and fastest female team awards based on the fastest four finishers in each gender. Teams must field a minimum of four male and four female finishers to qualify for the mixed team prize. Additional recognition is given for the team that brings the most runners and for a team selected for event spirit.
Pacers are available for a range of target times between 35 and 75 minutes. There is a finishing time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes after which course marshals may be withdrawn.
Medals are optional at registration to reduce waste; registrants may choose an entry price with or without a medal. The venue uses Langley Burrell Village Hall for registration and event facilities. The route runs through rural roads where horses and riders may be encountered; runners are asked to pass slowly, give wide clearance and communicate with riders when required.
