Amberaid 30 Trail Race and Petit Raid
Amberaid is a trail event based at Ashover Village Hall, Milken Lane, Ashover S45 0BA, in the Amber Valley of Derbyshire near the eastern edge of the Peak District. The main route covers a figure of 8 totalling 31 miles across undulating countryside paths and mixed woodland trails. The Petit Raid is the northern loop, covering 20 miles of the same terrain.
The route is largely unmarked; organisers provide route notes and GPX files and recommend carrying a paper map as backup. The course includes punchy climbs, engaging descents and open viewpoints. There is a nine hour time limit for the Amberaid route; runners must have left CP2 by 12.30pm or they will be redirected onto the Petit Raid route.

Checkpoints are sited on the course and supply water at every checkpoint, with food available at CP1, CP2 and CP4. CP locations include Tupton (7 miles), Wessington (13.5 miles and 25.5 miles) and Fritchley (20 miles, Amberaid only). Every finisher receives a medal; prizes are awarded to the first male and female in each race. Light refreshments are available at the finish and medic cover is provided on course and at the race headquarters. Free parking is available at the village hall.
