Amberaid 30 Trail Race and Petit Raid
Amberaid is a 31 mile trail run across undulating countryside paths and trails in the Amber Valley, Derbyshire, near the eastern edge of the Peak District. The Petit Raid is a 20 mile option that follows the northern loop of the Amberaid route.
The event starts at Ashover Village Hall, Milken Lane, Ashover S45 0BA, with free parking available. The full Amberaid route forms a figure of 8 through rural terrain and includes steep climbs, descents, wide views and woodland trails. The route is largely unmarked; the organiser provides route notes and GPX files and participants are advised to carry a paper map as backup.

Checkpoints are positioned on the course: CP1 Tupton (7 miles), CP2 Wessington (13.5 miles), CP3 Fritchley (20 miles, Amberaid only) and CP4 Wessington (25.5 miles, Amberaid only). Every checkpoint has water; CP1, CP2 and CP4 also provide food. There is medic cover on the course and at race headquarters. Time limit for the Amberaid route is 9 hours; runners who miss the CP2 cutoff may be redirected onto the Petit Raid route.
Minimum age is 18. Entry fees vary by race and affiliation status. Finishers receive a medal; prizes are awarded to the first male and first female in each race. The organiser offers optional event protection insurance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
