Event overview
The Lighthouse 5k Series Race 1 takes place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at The Whalehead Club in Corolla, North Carolina. This is the 16th annual running of the Lighthouse 5k / 1 Mile Race Series, presented by Brindley Beach Vacations. The race start and finish are in front of the historic mansion at The Whalehead Club in the Historic Corolla Park.

Adult entry is listed at $45, with discounts for active duty and veterans and a youth price for ages 17 and under. All entries include an event t-shirt, a finisher medallion and chip timing. Packet pickup and walk-up registration are available on race morning at the race start line. The course tours the Historic Village of Corolla Light and passes the Whalehead Club, Corolla Light resort area and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. There is on-site parking and restrooms. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, the first place masters male and female (over 40) and the first place youth male and female (14 and under). The event is described as walker and stroller friendly; service dogs are allowed and other pets are not. Registration is accepted online and major credit cards are accepted.
