Light the Way 5K
Light the Way 5K is an annual evening 5-kilometer run and walk held at Dollywood in Sevierville, Tennessee. The course was re-certified in 2024 and uses a route that begins near the park toll area, follows Dollywood’s tram road for a portion off-park, and finishes through Dollywood’s display of millions of Christmas lights. The event takes place as part of Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas festival.
The event is limited to 2,000 participants and is chip-timed by the Knoxville Track Club. All participants receive a medal at the finish line. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to age-group winners. Strollers are not allowed.
Online registration is offered with tiered fees: $50 through June 1 and $55 from June 2 through the race date. There is also a separate 1-mile Fun Walk option recommended for anyone who expects to need more than 90 minutes to complete the 5K without stopping. Packet pick-up details are listed as coming soon.
Proceeds support Keep Sevier Beautiful and the Share It Forward program at Dollywood. The event organizer may delay, modify, or cancel the race for severe weather or unsafe conditions; entries may be transferred to a new date if the event is rescheduled and no refunds are issued for weather-related cancellations.
