Cades Cove Loop Lope
The Cades Cove Loop Lope is an organized footrace held inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park on November 8, 2026. The event offers two distance options and follows routes within Cades Cove.
- 10-mile route around the entire scenic loop
- 5K route that cuts across Sparks Lane to reach the finish line
The 2026 edition is officially sold out; a waitlist is available for those who wish to be contacted if spots open. Registration for the event opened on June 2, 2026, with a fee of $107 including a $7 processing charge. A limited number of reserved parking passes are offered for $150; passes are limited and typically sell out quickly.
Packet and bib pickup take place on the days before the race at two locations: River Sports Outfitters in Knoxville and the Townsend Visitor Center in Townsend, Tennessee.
Proceeds benefit Friends of the Smokies to fund park projects and programs including historic preservation, wildlife conservation, and native plant and grassland restoration.
