Cades Cove Loop Lope : November 8, 2026
The event is a charity footrace held inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Cades Cove Loop Road in Townsend, Tennessee. Net proceeds benefit Friends of the Smokies and support park projects such as historic preservation, wildlife conservation, and native plant and grassland restoration. Participation is limited to 750 total runners.
Two course options are offered:
- 5K
- 10 mile Loop (USATF certified)
The registration fee is the same for both distances at $100. Only 100 vehicle reservation passes will be available for purchase for on site access in Cades Cove for an additional fee. Runners who do not purchase a vehicle pass must carpool with a passholder or use group transportation provided from the Townsend Visitor Center. A handicapped accessible shuttle will be available at the Townsend Visitor Center.
Race packets and bibs can be picked up at these times and locations: Thursday, November 5, 2026, 3:00 to 6:00 PM at River Sports Outfitters, 2918 Sutherland Ave, Knoxville, TN; and Saturday, November 7, 2026, 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Townsend Visitor Center, 7906 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Townsend, TN.
