LifeAct's Move for Mental Health 5K Run
LifeAct's Move for Mental Health is an annual community event held at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The event features multiple options for participants of various interests, including a timed run and an untimed walk. All activities take place within the grounds of the zoo, located at 3900 Wildlife Way in Cleveland.
The available distances include:
- 5K (chip timed)
- 1 Mile (untimed walk)
Participants who register for the 5K or 1 Mile events receive a race t-shirt and access to several onsite activities. These include a wellness and health fair featuring community resources, music provided by a DJ, and various family-oriented activities and giveaways. Registration for these events also grants participants full-day admission to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo following the conclusion of the race.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K event, as well as to the top fundraising team. A dedicated "Cheerleader" registration category is also available for those who wish to support participants without participating in the run or walk; however, this category does not include a t-shirt. All registration proceeds and fundraising efforts support LifeAct's mission to provide mental health education and suicide prevention programs for young people in Northeast Ohio.
