LifeAct's Move for Mental Health 5K Run
The LifeAct Move for Mental Health is an annual event held at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in Cleveland, Ohio. The gathering focuses on suicide prevention awareness and education for young people. Participants can choose between a competitive running event and a non-competitive walking distance.
The event features several participation options:
- 5K (Chip timed)
- 1 Mile (Untimed walk)
Registrants receive a commemorative t-shirt and access to several activities on the grounds. The event includes a health and wellness fair featuring booths from various local organizations. Attendees can also participate in family activities and enjoy music from a live DJ. Food and refreshments are provided, along with various giveaways throughout the morning.
The 5K course is chip timed for those interested in competitive results, and awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Recognition is also given to the top three fundraising teams. Participants are permitted to use strollers during the run or walk; however, dogs are not allowed inside the zoo premises.
An additional feature of registration is the inclusion of day-long access to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. After the conclusion of the organized distance events and awards ceremony, participants are welcome to remain at the venue to visit the zoo exhibits.
