Lexington Legacy 5k
The Lexington Legacy 5k is an annual run and walk organized by the Lexington High School Cross Country and Track and Field program. The event began in 2008 as an alumni race held on the nearly all-road course the team has used since 1970. Over the following years the event has expanded with help from athletes, coaches, and parent volunteers.
Proceeds from the event support the Lexington High School Cross Country and Track and Field program. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 28th this year.
The course layout is described as spectator friendly. Spectators can view participants at the start, then walk no more than 400 meters to the one-mile mark. Participants pass that same location again just after the two-mile mark. From there spectators can return to Lincoln Field to see runners finish.
The event maintains records and results across several categories, including men's, women's, alumni, and cross country divisions, and keeps past results for multiple years.
