Lexington Legacy 5k
The Lexington Legacy 5k is a community run/walk held on November 28, 2026 at Lincoln Field in Lexington, Massachusetts. The event benefits the Lexington High School Cross Country and Track and Field program; proceeds support the nearly 300 athletes on the team.
The course is a USATF certified, nearly all-road 5k that has been used by the high school program since 1970. The route was extended to the full 5k in 2014. The race begins and ends behind the Little League baseball diamond at Lincoln Field, heads out to Worthen Road, and winds through the neighborhood surrounding Lexington High School. The middle portion of the course includes some challenging hills.
Registration opens June 25, 2026 and closes November 27, 2026. Entry fees are listed as $35 for pre-registration, $40 on race day, and $25 for students, seniors, and Town of Lexington employees; online processing fees are not included. Participants who register before November 7 receive the official race T-shirt. Race T-shirts are also available for purchase for $20. Race bibs serve as entry for a post-race raffle.
Awards include overall male and female champions, first place alumni awards, and first place male and female winners in defined age groups. Race day photos will be published publicly and available for free. Strollers and dogs are permitted and should line up at the back of the starting pack to reduce collision risk. Spectators can view the start, walk about 400 meters to the one-mile mark, and return to Lincoln Field to see the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
