15th Annual Family Gratitude 5K & Kids Run
The Family Gratitude 5K and Kids Run is an annual Thanksgiving Day tradition held at the Endicott Estate in Dedham, Massachusetts. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation options, allowing individuals to join from any location. The primary goal of the event is to support local initiatives that address food insecurity, provide opportunities for young people, and assist families affected by natural disasters or refugee resettlement.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- In-Person 5K Run: A chip-timed run held on Thanksgiving morning.
- In-Person 5K Walk: A non-timed alternative for those who prefer to walk the course.
- In-Person Kids 1/2 Mile Run: Open to children aged 9 and under.
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk: An option for participants to complete the distance remotely during Thanksgiving week.
The in-person course is located on East Street. Use of strollers is permitted, though participants with strollers are requested to line up at the rear of the starting group. Due to liability requirements, dogs are not allowed on the race course.
Proceeds and donations from the event benefit the Dedham Food Pantry, the Dedham Youth Commission, and various Ripples of Hope local initiatives. The event is supported by several local sponsors and community partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
