Let's Make Pink Just a Color
This is the 4th annual memorial 5K and 1.5 mile fun run/walk held in Morehead City, North Carolina at 701 North 35 th street. The event continues the founder's mission to change the meaning of pink from a symbol of pain to one of community, hope, and healing. The founder died on September 28, 2025 after a fight with stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer.
The event offers two distances:
- 5 km 5 K Run/Walk
- 1.5 miles 1.5 mile Fun Run/Walk
Registrations open January 16, 2026 and close October 18, 2026. The published registration fee is $35.00. The event is presented as a community fundraiser; past years reported growing participation and funds raised, including more than $38,000 in the first year, over $50,000 in 2024, and nearly $100,000 in 2025 with over 800 participants.
Funds have supported local services in Carteret County such as chemo port access shirts, surgical bras, drain holders, meals, gas cards, therapy sessions, and weekend getaways. The race will not be officially timed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
