Let's Make Pink Just a Color (3rd Annual)
The event takes place on October 18, 2026, at 701 North 35 th street, Morehead City, NC. It comprises two non-competitive running and walking events:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk
Registration opens January 16, 2026, and closes October 18, 2026. The registration fee is $35.
The race is held in memory of the event's founder, who died on September 28, 2025, after a fight with stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer. The event is dedicated to continuing the founder's mission to shift the meaning of pink toward hope and healing.
Fundraising results from prior years are noted: the first year saw over 400 participants and more than $38,000 raised; in 2024 the event surpassed $50,000. Funds remain local and have been used to provide chemo port access shirts, surgical bras, drain bulb shower and belt holders, and, beginning in 2024, meals and weekend getaways to help families during treatment.
