Let Your Imagination Run 5k/1k (San Francisco)
Let Your Imagination Run is a community running event held at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on Sunday, August 30, 2026. The event includes two distances:
- All Ages 5k
- Children's 1k
The event is organized by For A Good Koss, a 501(c)(3) organization. Proceeds support music scholarships and community education events administered by the organization.
The course for both distances starts and finishes at the Pioneer Log Cabin Picnic Area. A post-race celebration with refreshments, prizes, and a raffle takes place at the same picnic area. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest finishers in the All Ages 5k, and all participants are entered automatically in a raffle for additional prizes.
Registration closes on Friday, August 28, 2026. Entry fees vary by date: Children's 1k is listed at $25 before August 2 and $30 on or after August 2; All Ages 5k is listed at $40 before August 2 and $45 on or after August 2. A 15% discount applies for teams of four or more paying participants.
Organizers note that a Sunday road closure on Blue Heron Lake Drive limits direct vehicle access to the start/finish; the closest vehicle access is at the Blue Heron Lake Boathouse, a short walk from the Pioneer Log Cabin Picnic Area. The event waiver releases the organizer and park department from liability and grants permission for photographs and video taken during the event to be used for promotional purposes; for participants under 18, a parent or guardian must authorize the release of likeness.
