Lester Fun Run 2025
The Lester Fun Run is an annual community sports event held in Downers Grove, Illinois. The event serves as a primary fundraising initiative for the Lester PTA, with proceeds supporting various student programs and activities. The organizers aim to raise funds that are reinvested into educational and extracurricular programming. Participants can choose between two main distances on race day.
The available distances for this event include:
- 5K for adults, youth, and staff.
- 1 Mile run or walk for adults, youth, and staff.
Each race is timed individually. Participants who wish to take part in both distances are required to register for each event separately to receive the appropriate timing bibs. All participants registered by the established deadline in early September are provided with an event T-shirt. For students, race materials including timing bibs and shirts are distributed through classrooms during the week leading up to the event.
In addition to the running races, the event includes surrounding activities such as raffles and silent auctions. The race venue is located at 236 Indianapolis St in Downers Grove.
