Event details
The Lester Fun Run is scheduled for late September 2026 in Downers Grove, Illinois, at 236 Indianapolis St. The event program includes a family-friendly 1 mile run/walk and a 5K race. Registration for the events opens on July 28, 2026. Registrants who register by midnight on September 5 are guaranteed a T-shirt. If a participant wants to enter both the 1 mile and the 5K, each race must be registered separately and each entry receives its own timing bib.

Format and fundraising
The Fun Run is one of two main fundraising events for the Lester PTA. The event generates over 35% of the PTA programming budget and has a stated fundraising goal of $25,000 to be reinvested in PTA programs and activities. Race timing bibs and T-shirts are scheduled for distribution to classrooms during the week of September 22, 2026.
