About the race
Run For The Mind / NAMIWalks is an annual community event presented by NAMI DuPage in partnership with NAMIWalks and the DuPage Prevention Leadership Team at St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The day opens with an opening ceremony and includes race and family activities aimed at raising funds for local mental health programs and services.
The event program includes:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Color Run
The 5K takes place on a scenic, USATF certified course. Participants using strollers, pets, and wheelchairs are welcome. The 1 Mile Color Run is co-hosted with the DuPage Prevention Leadership Team and is led by local high school students as part of an Anti-Stigma Campaign. A Kid Zone provides family-focused activities.
Logistics and rules are provided for participants. Parking is accessed via the Hoy Entrance on the north side of Butterfield Road at the end of Hoy Avenue; the preserve address is 27W400 Hoy Ave., Warrenville, IL 60555. Pets must be leashed at all times, with leashes no longer than 10 feet. In the event of inclement or severe weather the event will be canceled without a rain date; there are no refunds or exchanges.
