About the race
The Legless 5K Beer Challenge is a themed sports event held at the Bowdon Rugby Club in Altrincham, near Manchester. This event combines a run through the local countryside with drinking stations and a variety of obstacles. Participants can choose between a 3 km or 5 km distance. The 5 km course consists of two laps of a 2.5 km circuit that traverses wild fields, woodland, and established paths.
The course features both inflatable and non-inflatable obstacles designed to test fitness. Specific challenges include a tyre run, "walk the line," hay bales, a crawler section, and an inflatable obstacle course. Along the route, drinking stations provide a selection of beverages including beer, cider, Prosecco, wine, and water.
Registration is open to participants of all abilities, though all runners must be at least 18 years of age due to the consumption of alcohol. Identification is checked at registration. The event infrastructure includes:

Onsite facilities at the rugby club include changing rooms, toilets, and showers. A designated unsupervised baggage area is available for storing personal belongings. Food and additional beverages are available for purchase at the clubhouse. Free parking is provided on-site, and the venue is located within a 10-minute drive of public transport links at Altrincham and Hale.
