Event overview
The Legless 5K Beer Challenge is scheduled for 16 May 2026 at Bowdon Rugby Club. The event offers running or walking options over 3 km or 5 km distances. The 5 km route is two laps of a 2.5 km circuit that runs through fields, woodland and paths. Drinking stations are positioned during the route, with drinks provided every kilometre and a limit of up to five drinks per runner. Available beverages include beer, cider, Prosecco, wine and water. Inflatable and non-inflatable obstacles are placed on the course, including a tyre run, walk-the-line, hay bales, an inflatable course and a crawler. A completion medal is included for participants.
Format, safety and facilities
Start times are allocated in time slots. Entry requires participants to be 18 or over; ID will be checked at registration. The venue provides free onsite parking and the nearest train and tram stations are under 10 minutes away by car. The clubhouse offers toilet, changing and shower facilities, and food (a selection of hot and cold items) will be available. A bag drop area is provided but is unsupervised. First aid staff and marshals in high-visibility clothing will be present, and organisers state there is access to all course areas in case of emergency.
