Leeds Canal Side Run
The Leeds Canal Side Run starts at Granary Wharf and follows the Leeds Liverpool Canal towpath through Kirkstall and beyond. The course is flat and uses good trail and towpath surfaces on an out and back route with canal side views and a traffic free feel.
The event offers a range of distances:
- 10K
- 10 Miler
- Half Marathon
- 20 Miler (2 x 10 mile laps)
- Marathon (2 x half marathon laps)
- Ultra Marathon (2 x half marathon plus 10K)
Feed and drink stations are provided at approximately three mile intervals. The route is fully marshalled and there may be unmarshalled road crossings. Race numbers are collected on the day at registration, which is located close to the canal alongside toilet facilities.
The event operates without disposable cups at feed stations so participants should bring a reusable bottle or cup. Large over ear headphones are not permitted for safety reasons; bone conduction or single ear use is allowed. The races are licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules.
Access notes: the nearest train station is Leeds Station behind the start area. There is no parking at the start and finish area but city centre car parks are within walking distance and car sharing is recommended.
Transfers and deferrals are managed via the organiser and deferrals are permitted up to seven days before the event. Support on course is provided by marshals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
