Leeds Canal Side Run
The Leeds Canal Side Run departs from Granary Wharf in Leeds and follows the Leeds–Liverpool Canal towpath through Kirkstall and beyond. The course is a flat, out-and-back route on good trail and towpath surfaces, offering a traffic-free, canal-side environment.
Distances offered include:
- 10K
- 10 Miler
- Half Marathon
- 20 Miler (2 x 10 mile laps)
- Marathon (2 x half marathon laps)
- Ultra Marathon (2 x half + 10K)
Aid and event support include feed and drink stations positioned approximately every three miles, regular marshals, and bespoke finisher medals with treats at the finish. Race bibs are collected on the day at registration, which is located close to the canal alongside toilet facilities. All races are licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules.
Practical information notes that the nearest train station is Leeds Station, with the start immediately behind it. There is no parking at the start/finish area; city centre car parks are within walking distance and car sharing is recommended. The event operates cup-less feed stations, so runners are asked to bring a reusable bottle or cup. Large over-ear headphones are not permitted for safety; bone conduction or single-ear use is allowed. There may be unmarshalled road crossings. Transfers and deferrals can be managed up to seven days before the event. If a runner needs to retire or requires assistance, they should inform the nearest marshal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
