Event Overview
This is the 10th LeaLea Charity Run 5K, returning after six years. The event is open to participants aged 7 and older. The course is described as simple, taking place around Ala Moana Beach Park.
Charity and Community
Proceeds are donated to the local Hawaii community. For this edition, the entire entry fee will be donated to the Waikiki Aquarium to support an upgrade to its Edge of the Reef exhibit.
Awards and Prizes
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in 10-year age groups from 10 to 70. Top overall finishers receive prizes, which may include items like a hotel stay or a dinner for two.
Registration and Perks
There is a special reduced registration fee for students under age 21, with an additional discount for student groups of 10 or more. All registered runners receive a special sports towel. Refreshments are provided for finishers.
Post-Race Activity
After the race, there will be a voluntary beach clean-up activity at Ala Moana Beach Park.
Event Location and Packet Pickup
The event is held at Ala Moana Beach Park, with a start area at Magic Island. Packet pickup is available at the HIS Ala Moana Store on October 10th and 11th, or on race morning at Magic Island starting at 6:00 a.m. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
