Event Overview
The Makoa 5K, 10K & Half Marathon is a running event held in Ewa Beach on the coast of West O’ahu. Now in its fourth year, the event takes place at Wai Kai, which is recognized as a waterfront recreation facility. The races are designed to provide participants with views of the local shoreline and a connection to the local environment and culture.
Participants can choose from three primary running distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
The courses are described as flat and fast, utilizing the paths around the Ewa Beach area and the Wai Kai facility. In addition to the standard distances, the event also includes a 5K Turkey Trot for Heroes. The registration fees vary depending on the chosen distance, with separate pricing tiers for the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon options.
