The Official Las Cruces Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot takes place on 11/26/2026 at the LCPS Field of Dreams, 2300 Tashiro Dr, Las Cruces, NM 88007. The event is volunteer produced by local runners and includes multiple race distances.

All races begin and end inside the Field of Dreams track on the LCPS facility. The event is a closed course. The 5K runs along Motel Blvd and Bruins Rd on wide streets. The 10K includes sections on the City of Las Cruces Mesilla Drain and Outfall Channel trails before rejoining the 5K route. Courses are on paved surfaces with about 11 ft of elevation gain.

Chip timing is used for results and awards. Awards include overall top three female and male finishers plus top three in age groups for the 5K and 10K. The 1-mile awards are given for age groups 1-14 and 15+ for overall first through third place.

Registration details in the event listing show a fee of $25.00 for paid entries, with registration open from 11/30/2025 to 1/31/2026. Runners age 14 and under are free but must be registered separately and may not be included in group discounts. Groups of four or more receive a $5 per person discount.

Paid participants receive a themed race bib, and a t-shirt or beanie while supplies last. All participants receive a themed bib and a slice of pumpkin pie with a bib coupon. The event posts race photos by bib number and a finisher video to the results page. Other features include free snacks and drinks, prizes for best costume and largest team, and a donation drive for El Caldito. Portions of proceeds support the LCRC Summer Youth Program and scholarships for high school cross country teams in Dona Ana County.
