Event Overview
The State 47 Las Cruces Marathon takes place in Las Cruces, New Mexico, situated at an elevation of 3,900 feet. The event commemorates New Mexico's admission as the 47th state in the union. The course is set near pecan orchards and offers views of the Organ Mountains and the Rio Grande River. This event serves as a USATF-certified Boston Marathon qualifier and has previously been recognized as an RRCA Western Region Marathon Championship race.

The race utilizes a chip-timing system and provides a course cutoff time of 8 hours. An "Early Bird" start option is available for marathon and half-marathon participants who require the full 8-hour window to complete their distance. Registration for the Early Bird wave must be arranged in advance via email.
All participants receive a finisher medal and event-specific apparel. Top finishers in various age categories, ranging from ages 10 to over 80, receive locally themed awards. The event also offers custom charms for runners who achieve Boston Qualifying times or are members of the 50 States Marathon or Half-Marathon Clubs. On-course support includes multiple aid stations and professional photography.
