State 47 Las Cruces Marathon
The State 47 Las Cruces Marathon is a multi-distance event held in Las Cruces, New Mexico on January 9, 2027. The race base is the Field of Dreams stadium area in Las Cruces, situated near pecan orchards, the Rio Grande, and with views of the Organ Mountains at about 3,900 feet elevation. The marathon and half marathon courses are USATF-certified and the marathon is listed as a Boston qualifier.
Event organizers present several race options and related activities. Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before at the host hotel. Race services listed include chip timing, free professional photos, custom finishers medals, event shirts and drawstring bags for many entries, locally themed awards, and volunteer support. Age group awards are provided for a wide range of categories and must be picked up in person on race day or the following week at a local running store.
The event has drawn participants from all 50 U.S. states and multiple countries and was selected as the RRCA Western Region Marathon Championship in recent years. Additional offerings for 2027 include a new 4-person relay, a 4.7K run/walk, a .47-mile kids mini run, virtual marathon and half-marathon options, and a Friday shakeout run.
