Buttermere Shepherd's Meet Fell Race
The event is part of the traditional Shepherd's Meet and takes place at Gatesgarth, Buttermere on 25 October 2026. Entry fee includes a warm drink and a snack. The main course runs from Gatesgarth to the summit of Robinson and back, a format used since 2021; earlier courses to Whiteless Breast were used up to 2019.

Junior distances:
- U11 and U13 race: 2 km
- U9 race: 1 km
Juniors in the U15 and U17 categories may compete in the main race; U15s may instead run the U11/U13 race. Minimum age details list Juniors U9 and Seniors 14. Entry on the day is noted as Juniors £2 and Seniors £5, with no overall entry limit and pre-entry not available.
Parking is at Gatesgarth Farm yard or field; organisers ask that competitors car share if possible. Start and finish are on private land and should not be recceed. The event is Category AS under FRA requirements. Required kit includes waterproof jacket and trousers, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle; organisers may reduce requirements at their discretion.
