Lake Vista Lunatics Run, November 8, 2026
Lake Vista Lunatics is an endurance running event at Deam Lake State Recreation Area in Borden, IN. The event uses a marked loop that measures 4.167 miles. The loop includes a steep summit reaching about 25 to 30 percent grade, several creek crossings that can often be hopped, and rooty and rocky technical trail sections near the top.
Distances and formats:
- 12 hour endurance event, multiple laps of the 4.167 mile loop
- 6 hour endurance event, multiple laps of the 4.167 mile loop
- Fun Run, a single lap of the 4.167 mile course
Runners complete repeated laps and return to the crew area to refill water bottles and nutrition between laps. At the top of each hour runners begin another lap until their chosen time window ends. Total time for all laps is calculated; the fastest pace and lowest total time with no missed laps determine overall winners.
Participants are expected to bring their own hydration and nutrition; organizers will have limited electrolytes and nutrition as backup. Registration is limited, with less than 50 spots before waitlisting, and prizes include a finisher medal, prizes for the top male and female endurance champions, and a Lake Vista baseball cap included with registration.
