Lake Vista Lunatics Run, Nov 8, 2026
Lake Vista Lunatics Run takes place at Deam Lake State Recreation Area in Borden, IN, using a marked loop course that measures 4.167 miles. The course includes a steep summit section with grades around 25 to 30 percent, several creek crossings that can sometimes be hopped, and rooty and rocky technical terrain near the top. Runners pass a viewpoint near the summit and then descend the opposite side.
Event formats:
- 12 hour endurance run
- 6 hour endurance run
- Fun Run one lap (4.167 miles)
Endurance competitors complete repeated laps of the marked loop. Between laps runners return to the crew area or start line to refill water bottles and nutrition. At the top of each subsequent hour runners begin another lap until the chosen 6 or 12 hour time block ends. Fun runners complete a single lap. The event is not a last man standing format; participants must start at designated times and missed starts require waiting for the next scheduled start.
Runners are expected to bring their own nutrition, hydration, and crew if needed. Organizers will provide limited electrolytes and backup nutrition. Registration is limited to fewer than 50 spots before waitlisting. Prizes include a finisher medal, awards for top male and female endurance finishers, and a Lake Vista baseball cap included with registration.
