Lake Vista Lunatics Run
The Lake Vista Lunatics Run takes place on November 8, 2026 at Deam Lake State Recreation Area near Borden, IN. The event offers multiple formats on a single marked loop.
- 12 Hour endurance
- 6 Hour endurance
- Fun Run : 1 lap
The loop is 4.167 miles long. The course includes a summit section with slopes around 25 to 30 percent grade, several creek crossings that can often be hopped, occasional fallen trees, and rooty, rocky technical sections near the top. Runners can see a view from the summit before descending the opposite side.
Participants complete repeated laps on the marked course and return to the crew area or start area between laps for refueling and bottle top-ups. Laps are started on hourly marks and continue for the duration of the chosen endurance option. Overall results are based on total time and pace; the fastest total time with no missed laps determines the winner in the endurance divisions.
Runners are expected to bring their own nutrition and hydration; organizers will provide limited electrolytes and backup nutrition. The event limits total entries to under 50 spots before waitlisting to manage attendance at the shared DNR site. Registered participants receive a finisher medal, a Lake Vista baseball cap, and prizes for top endurance finishers along with door and random prizes.
