Lake Vista Lunatics Run, Deam Lake SRA
Lake Vista Lunatics Run is a trail endurance event at Deam Lake State Recreation Area in Borden, IN. The event offers timed endurance formats and a single-lap fun run on a measured loop that is now 4.167 miles, changed from a previous 5k layout. The loop includes a summit section with roughly 25 to 30 percent grade, several creek crossings that can often be hopped, occasional downed trees, and rooty, rocky technical terrain near the top. Participants can view the surrounding area from the summit before descending.

- 6 Hour endurance
- Fun Run one lap (4.167 miles)
Runners complete marked laps and return to the crew area/start for water bottles and nutrition. At the top of each hour participants begin another lap and continue for the duration they entered. Starts occur at designated times; if a runner misses a start they must wait for the next scheduled start. This is not a last man standing format. Total time for all laps is calculated and the fastest overall pace with no missed laps determines the winner.
Organizers provide limited backup electrolytes and nutrition but participants are expected to bring their own supplies and crew support as needed. Registration is limited with under 50 spots before waitlisting. Prizes include a finisher medal, top male and female awards, and a Lake Vista baseball cap included with registration.
