Be A Blessing 5K and 1M Fun Run
The event is a community fun run at Sam Peden Community Park in New Albany, Indiana, held on the paved path around the lake. The course layout is described as laps around the lake and the runs are not timed.

Proceeds support Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County, an initiative of the New Albany Floyd County Education Foundation that provides weekend food for local schoolchildren. The program serves students in the district’s elementary and middle schools and aims to reduce childhood food insecurity; over 2,000 NAFCS preK through 6th grade children are noted as recipients of weekend food support.
Participants receive finisher medals and an official race shirt while supplies last. To guarantee a shirt size, registration must be completed by the stated deadline. Awards include a top individual fundraiser prize and a largest team award based on the number of registered team members. Fundraising pages are created for registrants, and the event notes that 100% of donations designated for the program go toward the cost of the food provided to children.
