Lake Takanassee Summer Series
The Lake Takanassee Summer Series is a weekly community running series established in 1964 by Shore A.C., held on the perimeter of Lake Takanassee in Long Branch, New Jersey. Events take place across five Monday evenings on July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27 and August 3. The meeting point and parking are at St. Michael's Church, 800 Ocean Avenue, with entry via South Lake Road and parking behind the church.
The series normally stages a one mile kids run that completes a single lap of the lake and a 5K that covers four laps of the lake. The final week is configured as a two mile run or racewalk for all ages. Awards include medals for the top three overall finishers and age group winners in the 5K, medals for the top three girls and top three boys in the 1 mile, and ribbons for all kids run participants. Consistent top performers receive overall series awards at the conclusion.
Fees and registration details vary by event: individual kids runs are listed at $5 per race, 5K entries at $10 per race, and season ticket options are offered for both the 5K and the kids series. On-site registration is charged at $10. Race results are posted one to two days after each race on the Shore A.C. website under Our Events.
