Lake Takanassee Summer Series

The Lake Takanassee Summer Series is a weekly running event held in Long Branch, New Jersey. Established in 1964 by Shore A.C., the series takes place on the perimeter of Lake Takanassee, beginning and ending near Saint Michael's Church.

Participants navigate a course that circles the lake, with different event distances available throughout the series:

  • 5K Run (4 laps around the lake)
  • 5K Racewalk (4 laps around the lake)
  • 1 Mile Kids Run (1 lap around the lake)
  • 1500m Kids Fun Run
  • 2 Mile Race (held on the final Monday)

Medals are awarded to the top three overall finishers and age group winners in the 5K events. For the youth races, the top three girls and top three boys receive medals, while ribbons are given to all participants in the kids runs. Consistent top performers throughout the five-week series are eligible for overall series awards.

Parking is available behind Saint Michael's Church on Ocean Avenue. The event offers limited registration on the day of the race. Following each event, results are typically published within one to two days. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
