Lake Hopatcong Sprint Triathlon Challenge
The Lake Hopatcong Sprint Triathlon Challenge, presented by Saint Clare's Health, is a multi-event race held at Crescent Cove Beach Club in Hopatcong, New Jersey on September 12, 2026. The event offers a Sprint Triathlon, an AquaBike event, and a Relay option with separate registration dates and fees.
Distances:
- 400 m swim (open water, counterclockwise)
- 12.4 mile bike course
- 3.1 mile run out and back
The swim starts from Crescent Cove Beach. The bike route travels through the Northwood section and into Jefferson and includes technical sections and hills. The run follows Lakeside Blvd to Maxim Glen and returns to the Crescent Cove area.
Race packets include a race shirt, bib, bike number, timing chip and swim cap. Transition uses open racking and is restricted to athletes; competitors must place their bike number on their bike before entering transition. Helmets are required and must be fastened. Headphones are prohibited on the bike. Riders should keep to the right, pass on the left and announce on your left. Most of the bike course remains open to traffic and athletes must follow police and volunteer instructions.
The event benefits the Hopatcong PBA. Fundraisers who raise $150 or more receive a race sweater from Live Run Give LLC. Crescent Cove rules include no dogs on the beach and proper use of trash receptacles. Spectators must not obstruct the course or operations.
