Event overview
The Strides for Education Hybrid 5K Run/Walk is the 10th annual event held in October 2026 in Morris Plains, New Jersey. The in-person portion starts and finishes at Simons Park and the course is described as flat through the streets of Morris Plains. The event is organized by the Education Foundation of Morris Plains and proceeds benefit students in the Morris Plains School District, with funds supporting programs at Mountain Way and Borough Schools.

Registration opens July 31, 2026. Listed entry fees are $30 for ages 18 and up, $20 for ages 17 and under, $10 for the Kids' Fun Run, and $20 for the Virtual 5K.
Participation and logistics
The event is hybrid: participants may take part in person at Simons Park or remotely as virtual runners. Day-of registration is available on-site between 8:00 and 8:30. All in-person participants must pick up a t-shirt and an environmentally friendly timing anklet at the NJ Trail Series table and return the anklet after completing the course.
