Strides for Education Hybrid 5K Run/Walk
The Strides for Education Hybrid 5K Run/Walk is an event organized by the Education Foundation of Morris Plains. It takes place at Simons Park in Morris Plains, New Jersey, and offers both in person and virtual participation on the event date, with the in person course using local streets and a start and finish at Simons Park.
Distances offered:
- 3.1 Miles 5K run or walk for ages 18 and up
- 3.1 Miles 5K run or walk for participants up to 17 years
- 0.5 Miles Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under
- 3.1 Miles Virtual 5K run or walk
Registration opens July 31 and closes September 14. Fees listed for standard registration are $30 for adult 5K, $20 for youth 5K, $10 for the kids fun run, and $20 for the virtual 5K. Registrations received by October 3 are guaranteed a race giveaway. Day of registration is available on site between 8:00 and 8:30.
All participants must pick up their t shirt and timing bib with RFID chip on race day. Team registration is available and the largest teams receive a prize and social media recognition. Event proceeds benefit the Morris Plains School District. The Education Foundation of Morris Plains will cover registration fees for students and families with financial need; requests are handled confidentially through the student’s principal.
