Strides for Education Hybrid 5K Run/Walk
Strides for Education is a hybrid running event organized by the Education Foundation of Morris Plains at Simons Park in Morris Plains, New Jersey. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation and directs proceeds to the Morris Plains School District to fund programs at Mountain Way and Borough Schools.

- 3.1 Miles 5K Run/Walk (18 years and up)
- 3.1 Miles 5K Run/Walk (up to 17 years)
- 0.5 Miles Kids' Fun Run (ages 10 and under)
- 3.1 Miles Virtual 5K Run/Walk
Registration opens on July 31 and closes on September 14. Published registration fees vary by category: adult 5K, youth 5K, kids' fun run, and a virtual 5K fee are listed by the organizer. Day-of registration is available on site. All participants are required to pick up a T-shirt and a timing bib with an RFID chip on race day.
The event includes a team challenge with awards for the largest teams and social recognition. The Education Foundation of Morris Plains will cover registration fees for students and families with financial need; such requests are handled confidentially through the student’s principal.
