Strides for Education 5K Run/Walk
The Strides for Education 5K Run/Walk is organized by the Education Foundation of Morris Plains and takes place on October 25, 2026. The event is offered as a hybrid race so participants may join in person on the streets of Morris Plains or run virtually at their own location on the same date. The certified, flat, fast 5K course runs through the streets of Morris Plains. Race proceeds benefit all students in the Morris Plains School District and fund programs at Mountain Way and Borough Schools.

- Kids fun run approximately 1,000 ft around Simons Park
A separate kids fun run option is available for racers 10 and under and runs before the 5K race. Participants who register by October 12 are guaranteed a race t shirt. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers male and female overall and in age categories: 11 and under, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 plus. A team challenge is part of the event and the biggest team receives a prize. Sponsorship opportunities are offered to support the race mission.
