About the race
Strides for Education is a community 5K run and walk held on October 25, 2026, in Morris Plains, New Jersey. The event is presented as a hybrid race with both an in-person option on a certified, flat course through the streets of Morris Plains and a virtual option for participants to complete the distance at their chosen location on the same date. Race proceeds support the Morris Plains School District through the Education Foundation of Morris Plains, funding programs at Mountain Way and Borough Schools.
Distances offered:
- 5K on a certified course through Morris Plains
- Kids' Fun Run, about 1,000 ft around Simons Park for racers 10 and under
The event includes a team challenge with a prize for the largest team and awards with medals for the top three male and female finishers overall and in age categories: 11 & under, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50+. Registration is open and discount pricing is available for registrations by September 15. Organizers provide race t-shirts for early registrants and list pickup details for the morning of the event. Sponsorship opportunities and donor recognition are part of the event structure, and sponsors are acknowledged by the Education Foundation of Morris Plains.
