Newton Pride Monster Dash 5K
The Newton Pride Monster Dash is a community running event in Newton, New Jersey, held at Newton High School and using local streets. The event features a USATF certified 5K course that winds through Ryerson, Plainfield, and Linwood and finishes at Newton High School.

Registration details differ by event. Registration for the 5K opens 5/15/2026 and closes 7/30/2026; the 5K registration fee is $25.00. Registration for the 1 Mile Fun Run opens 7/29/2026 and closes 10/24/2026; the fun run fee is $15.00.
Awards include top male and female overall plus age group awards in these ranges: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. A costume contest is part of the event and prizes are awarded.
Event proceeds support the Newton Pride Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to enrich the educational experience at Newton High School. Volunteers are used on race day for tasks such as water stations, course marshals, and packet pick up; volunteering can count toward service hours.
