The Lake Hodges Trail Duathlon is a trail multi-sport event held at the Piedras Pintadas Trailhead in San Diego, CA, as part of the Lake Hodges Trail Fest and the Elevation Culture Race Series. The course combines three legs with a total distance of about 23 miles.
The event distances:
- Run 10k (≈6.2 miles)
- Bike 22k (≈13.7 miles)
- Run 5k (≈3.1 miles)
The event is a timed, chip-timed race with continuous chip timing; transitions are not separately recorded. It is designated as a cupless event: aid stations will not provide cups, and participants must bring their own hydration vessel. Drop bags are allowed in the designated transition area. Port-a-toilets are provided at the start/finish and may be available along the trail.
Equipment and categories are stated for different entrants. Allowed bike categories include mountain, gravel, and hybrid bikes; electric bikes are not permitted. Awards are given to first through third place in male and female categories, and awards are also listed for team and bike-category classifications. All finishers receive event items such as a tri-blend finisher shirt, a handcrafted wooden medal, a custom drink vessel, and a custom bike plate when registered by the published deadline. The event includes on-site amenities like post-race food trucks, beverages, and an elevated camp area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
