Lafayette Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K at Moncus Park
The 2nd Annual Lafayette Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K takes place on October 4, 2026 at Moncus Park in Lafayette, Louisiana. The event coincides with World Ostomy Day and raises funds for the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are tax deductible.
The gathering includes local vendors, food, music and family oriented activities. A children's fun run for ages 12 and under is offered and children may walk, run, or roll; additional activities for children are planned. Packet pick up schedules will be posted closer to the event. Same day registration is available.
Registration pricing noted by the organizers includes an early registration fee of $30 for adults and $20 for children, which includes a unisex T shirt, a bib with timing chip, and a race swag bag. Same day registration fees are listed as $35 for adults and $20 for children. Volunteer opportunities are available with no fee.
Race registration bags will include ostomy education materials and at least one ostomy pouch provided by sponsors; organizers encourage non-ostomate participants to wear a pouch during the event to increase awareness. Prizes are planned for the top male and female overall finishers and the top male and female ostomates.
Parking is available for a fee of $2 per hour up to $10 daily, with free parking for Friends of Moncus Park members. Handicap parking and ADA accessible pathways are available.
