Ladybug Run for CDH Awareness 5K/10K : July 11, 2026
The Ladybug Run for CDH Awareness is the 15th annual running of a community race held on July 11, 2026. The event uses a stroller friendly course through open green spaces and forested paths along the Tualatin River in Tigard’s Cook Park and neighboring areas. The start line is managed to allow a staggered start, with the line remaining open for a limited period to provide space for participants.
Perks and race elements include shirts, medals, and race packets for 5K and 10K finishers. Virtual options are available for both 5K and 10K distances; virtual participants receive a race bib, a shirt, and a medal and may complete their distance at a location and time of their choosing.
Distances and event formats include:
- 5K in-person run and walk
- 10K in-person run
- Virtual 5K and Virtual 10K
- Kids 800 m or 1 mile untimed event
- Diaper Dash 100 m
- 10K Relay with two 5K legs
- Virtual kid race 1 mile for age 10 and under
Proceeds benefit the Ladybug CDH Foundation. The foundation’s stated goals are to raise public awareness about Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, fund medical research, and provide direct support to families in the Pacific Northwest. Sidewalk signs along Cook Family Park remember and honor Angels and Survivors; organizers collect stories and photos for these signs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
