Miles for Midwives 2026
Miles for Midwives is an annual 5K walk, run, and roll held on May 16, 2026 at Champoeg State Heritage Area in Saint Paul, Oregon. A secondary Miles for Midwives Oregon 5K is scheduled for May 17, 2026 at Pacifica (A Garden in the Siskiyous) in Williams, Oregon. The event raises awareness about the role of midwives in improving maternal and infant health and supports two professional midwifery organizations.
Proceeds benefit the Oregon Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Oregon Midwifery Council. Ten percent of registration fees are directed to the Anahuac farm, a program within Capaces Leadership Institute that supports migrant and farmworking Indigenous peoples through agriculture, education, and ancestral health practices.
Online registration opens March 2 and continues into May; in-person registration on May 16 is possible but does not include a T-shirt and may be slower to process. Registrations before May 4 receive a souvenir T-shirt and a discounted registration price of $48. Registrations between May 10 and May 15 remain priced at $48 without a T-shirt. Registrations beginning May 15 through race day are priced at $58 and T-shirt availability is not guaranteed. Registration is free for participants aged 16 and under.
The event promotes the International Confederation of Midwives campaign One Million More Midwives, a global petition calling on policymakers to grow and sustain the midwifery workforce. The event is pet friendly with leashes required and proceeds rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
