Event Overview

The Miles for Midwives 5K is an annual walk, run, or roll event held in Champoeg State Park, located between Oregon City and Salem. The event aims to raise awareness of midwives' impact on maternal and infant health. All proceeds support the Oregon Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Oregon Midwifery Council to improve maternal healthcare in the state.

Course and Participation

The event features a single 5 km route. Registration is open from February 24th until the start of the race on May 15th. A souvenir T-shirt is available with registration before May 3rd, though availability is not guaranteed after that date. Registration is free for participants aged 16 and under.

Beneficiaries and Community Drive

In addition to supporting midwifery organizations, 10% of each registration fee goes to The Center for Hope & Safety, a nonprofit providing services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. The event also includes a diaper drive, encouraging participants to bring new cloth or disposable diapers for donation to local nonprofit diaper banks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
