Event Overview

The Miles for Midwives event is a 5 km walk, run, or roll taking place at Champoeg State Heritage Area (Champoeg State Park) in Saint Paul, Oregon. It is an annual event designed to raise awareness about the impact of midwives on maternal and infant health outcomes. The event directly supports two professional midwifery organizations: the American College of Nurse-Midwives Oregon Affiliate and the Oregon Midwifery Council. A portion of the registration fees also supports The Center for Hope & Safety, a nonprofit aiding victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Beneficiaries and Drives

All proceeds from the event benefit the two midwifery organizations. Additionally, 10% of each registration fee is directed to The Center for Hope & Safety. The event also hosts a diaper drive, encouraging participants to bring new cloth or disposable diapers for donation to local nonprofit diaper banks. These donations support the National Diaper Bank Network.

Registration Details

Registration is conducted online. The standard registration fee is $48. A higher fee of $58 applies for registrations from the evening before the event through race day. Registration for participants aged 16 and under is free. A souvenir T-shirt is included with early registrations, though availability is not guaranteed for later registrations.

Location

The event is held at Champoeg State Heritage Area, located approximately halfway between Oregon City and Salem. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
