Miles for Midwives 2026 takes place on May 16, 2026 in Saint Paul, Oregon (Champoeg State Heritage Area, 97137). The event includes a 5K walk/run/roll held at Champoeg State Heritage Area, located halfway between Oregon City and Salem. Registration opens in late February 2026 and continues through May 15, 2026 at 11pm.
Purpose and beneficiaries
The event raises awareness about the role of midwives in maternal and infant health. Net proceeds benefit the Oregon Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Oregon Midwifery Council. Ten percent of registration fees are designated for the Center for Hope & Safety, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers refuge and support to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.
Registration and event services
Early registration offers a discounted fee and a souvenir T-shirt for registrations completed before May 3rd. Registrations between May 10 and May 16 remain at the discounted fee but do not guarantee a T-shirt. Late registration beginning the evening before the race carries a higher fee. Registration is free for ages 16 and under. A diaper drive will collect new cloth or disposable diapers for local nonprofit diaper banks; donations will be delivered to the National Diaper Bank Network.
