Run in the New Year is a road running event held in Long Beach at 5400 E. Ocean Blvd. The event offers multiple distance options on marked courses; the start and finish are located at the blue arch. Course markings include cones, chalk, and signs at each turn around point.

Distances offered:

• 5k out-and-back route
• 10k two 5k loops
• 15k three 5k loops
• Half marathon three 4.36-mile loops

Registration includes a custom finisher medal for all finishers, drawstring goodie bags, free race photos associated with bibs, free videos and cinematic race highlight reels, live results at finish, trophies and achievement badges, an Ascend Index ranking and Ascend Crew features, and a free A Better World Running app to track races, photos and videos. Participants can expect an assortment of snacks and samples. Running or walking with a stroller is allowed. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit; an early start may be arranged on request. Group discount options are available for multi-person registrations.
