Event Overview
The second annual Kristen's Krew 5K is a community running and walking event held in Concord, North Carolina. The race serves as a fundraiser for the Kristen McCartney Perseverance Scholarship, which provides financial support to female high school students from North Carolina pursuing higher education.
The event features a single distance:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
Course Details
The race begins and ends at Harris Road Middle School. The route is primarily situated on the Moss Creek segment of the Hector Henry Greenway. Participants will travel along a paved surface that traverses wetland areas along the Rocky River and connects to surrounding neighborhood streets. Because the course utilizes a public greenway and residential roads, there is no official time limit for completion.
Participation and Logistics
Registration is open to the general public and all paces are welcome. Participants who register by May 1st are guaranteed an event t-shirt. The proceeds from the registration fees contribute to a scholarship fund based on criteria including academic excellence, community involvement, and inclusivity for female high school juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.5 GPA. The race is part of a larger weekend of events in the Charlotte area focused on the theme of perseverance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
