Overview
The Carolina Ugly Sweater 5k Walk/Run & 1k Elf Run is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Jetton Village, Cornelius, North Carolina (19818 N. Cove Road). The event includes a 5k course and a 1k Elf Run, and it serves as a nonprofit fundraiser to raise money to help local children access sports programs. The event is held rain or shine. Registration prices listed are $39 for the 5k and $12 for the 1k. Participants receive event items and offers, including a coupon for a free chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A, a ticket for a free donut, an Ugly Sweater race cup, and two adult beverage tickets for participants over 21. Participants who register by December 1 will receive a Christmas race ornament. An Ugly Sweater t-shirt is available for purchase for $10 until November 25; race-day purchases are $15.
Packet pick up is offered the day before at Penny Lane (formerly The Cornelius Drafthouse) and on race day near the gazebo by H2 Public House and Penny Lane. Awards include trophies and gift cards for overall top male and female finishers, a stroller category trophy, age-group top finishers, top three in the 1k under-11 race, and a prize for best overall costume.
