About the race
The Kiss My Asphalt event on February 14, 2027 in Old Mill Park, Fredericksburg, VA, includes a kids 1‑mile, a 5k and a 10k. Points from the races count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k, Kids, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Winter Series.
The course runs along the Rappahannock River on a paved path with a few small hills. The 5k is an out-and-back course and the 10k follows the 5k route twice.
Features include a stoplight-style theme where participants wear red if they are taken, green if they are single, and yellow if it is complicated. Walkers and strollers are allowed. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Registered finishers receive a finisher’s medal, a technical Drifit event shirt (shirts guaranteed for registrations before February 3), and chip timing. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered. Water stations are provided on course: five stations on the 10k at approximately miles 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2, and two stations on the 5k at approximately miles 1 and 2.1; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the parking area.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to age group placers, and live and final results are posted after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
