Kirkintilloch Aquathlon
The Kirkintilloch Aquathlon is a multisport event organized by the Glasgow Triathlon Club and governed by Triathlon Scotland. Based at the Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre in East Dunbartonshire, the event consists of a pool based swim followed immediately by a run through the park located at the front of the leisure centre. The competition is structured into heats arranged by age group.
Participants are divided into several categories based on their age as of 31 December 2026:
- TriStar Start (age 8): 50m swim and 600m run.
- TriStar 1 (ages 9-10): 150m swim and 1500m run.
- TriStar 2 (ages 11-12): 250m swim and 2000m run.
- TriStar 3 (ages 13-14): 400m swim and 3000m run.
- Youth (ages 15-16): 400m swim and 3000m run.
- Adults (age 17+): 400m swim and 3000m run.
The Adult category includes a Go Tri heat for those new to the sport and an Experienced heat for seasoned participants. All entries include electronic chip timing, a race memento, and post-race snacks. Professional event photography is provided free of charge, and trophies are awarded to the first, second, and third-place finishers in each age group.
