Kelvingrove Park Running Event
This running event takes place in the West End of Glasgow within the historic grounds of Kelvingrove Park. The event features a selection of distances suited for different age groups and preferences, held on a Saturday in April. The designated route consists of a 2.5 km loop through the park.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10 km (4 laps of the course)
- 5 km (2 laps of the course)
- Kids Race (2 km)
- Toddler Dash (0.2 km)
The course is fully marked with kilometer markers and staffed by marshals to assist with navigation. The race uses chip timing to provide accurate results for all participants. Runners pass through various sections of the park, which is known for its landscape and spring flora.
Regarding logistics, race packs are available for collection on the day of the event at Kelvin Way. A bag drop area is also provided near the registration point. The park is accessible via public transport, with the nearest underground stations being Kelvinbridge and Kelvinhall.
Participants receive a finisher's medal and a goody bag upon completing their race. Hydration stations are positioned along the route, and first aid services are present on-site. Participation in the 10 km requires runners to be at least 15 years old, while the 5 km is open to those aged 11 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
