Kirkbride Half Marathon
The event is a measured half marathon held in Kirkbride, Wigton, Cumbria, with race headquarters at The White Heather Hotel, Old Airfield, Kirkbride, CA7 5HW. The course is newly revised and described as flat with reduced elevation, routed on quiet country roads.
The route consists of two loops. The first is a 5.3-mile loop through Kirkbride and Newton Arlosh. The second is a 7.8-mile loop that passes back through Kirkbride and returns to the finish at The White Heather Hotel. The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers; Course Measurement Number 19/029 and Race Licence Number 2024-46699 are provided.
On-site facilities include ample parking, toilets for male and female participants, and a baggage lay down area. Race numbers and timing chips are issued at race registration. Water stations are positioned at approximately 4 miles and 8 miles and will supply bottled water; runners are asked to take bottles from the table.
A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit, and the measurement certificate will be available at event headquarters on race day. Athletes are requested to follow the race director's instructions and to be aware of traffic and cyclists on the course.
Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and across age groups (20 to 29, 30 to 39, etc.). Age-group prize allocation depends on category entry numbers, with roll-down rules applied if an athlete also receives an overall prize.
