Kirkbride Half Marathon
The Kirkbride Half Marathon takes place on quiet country roads around Kirkbride and Newton Arlosh, with the start area close to The White Heather Hotel and the finish at The White Heather Hotel in Wigton, Cumbria (CA7 5HW). The event is scheduled for June 28th 2026.
The route is a measured and certified course (Course Measurement Number 19/029) described as flat and run over two loops: a shorter 5.3 loop through Kirkbride and Newton Arlosh, and a longer 7.8 mile loop that returns to the hotel. The organisers list a race licence number of 2024-46699 and state the course has been measured by the Association of UK Course Measurers.
On-course facilities include toilets for male and female participants, a baggage lay down area, and water stations positioned at approximately 4 miles and 8 miles where bottled water will be placed on tables for runners to take. Race numbers and timing chips are issued at race registration, and race-day information is communicated to entrants in the week leading to the event. A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at the event headquarters in accordance with UKA rules.
Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers, with additional age-group prizes across 20 to 29, 30 to 39 and other categories; detailed age-group prize allocation rules apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
