Event overview
The Kirkbride Half Marathon takes place on 28 June 2026 at Race HQ: The White Heather Hotel, Old Airfield, Kirkbride, Wigton, Cumbria, CA7 5HW. The event is an officially measured course by the Association of UK Course Measurers (Course Measurement Number 19/029). A race licence number is listed as 2024-46699. Race numbers, timing chips and race day information are issued at race registration.
Course and facilities
The route starts close to The White Heather Hotel and finishes at The White Heather Hotel. The course is described as flat and uses quiet country roads in two loops:
- 5.3 loop through Kirkbride and Newton Arlosh
- 7.8 mile loop returning via Kirkbride and Newton Arlosh
Ample on-site parking is available. Toilets for male and female competitors and a baggage lay down area are provided. Water stations are positioned at approximately 4m and 8m; water will be in bottles and competitors are required to take bottles from the table rather than receiving them by hand.
Safety, results and prizes
A course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at event HQ in accordance with UKA rules. Competitors are asked to follow the race director’s instructions and be aware of traffic and cyclists. Results will be published online after the race. Prizes are listed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers, plus age-group prizes (20-29, 30-39, etc.) with award levels dependent on category entry numbers; age-group prizes are paid by BACS within seven days.
