Event overview
The Sale Fell Race takes place on 22 November 2025 at Sale Fell bench, near Wythop Mill (grid ref NY 19092 30101). The course is Category BS and is given as 3.7 miles with 900 ft ascent (equal to 5.9 km and 274 m). Junior races are organised for U9, U11, U13 and U15. Juniors in the U17 category may compete in the main race. Course records are 24:10 (male, 2018) and 28:32 (female, 2018).

Logistics and rules
There is no overall entry limit. Senior entries are available by pre-entry; junior races are entry on the day. Minimum ages are U9 for juniors and U17 for seniors. The advertised entry price for the senior fell race is £6.75 plus fees.
Parking is roadside either side of Sale Fell gate (grid ref NY 19160 30197). It is also possible to park near the Pheasant Inn at NY 199 307, which gives a short warm-up route to the start. Checkpoints list the start and finish at grid ref NY 19160 30197. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle; emergency rations are also advised. At the organiser's discretion, kit requirements may be reduced on race day. Prizes are awarded to male and female winners in senior and veteran categories V40, V50, V60, V70 and V80.
