King’s Compassion 5K

The King’s Compassion 5K is an annual running and walking event held at McAllister Park in San Antonio, Texas. The second edition of this race takes place at Pavilion 5 within the park grounds. This event serves as a benefit for King’s Compassion, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports at-risk homebound seniors throughout the San Antonio area.

Participants can choose to complete the course as a run or a walk. The proceeds from the event assist the organization in providing free home-delivered essentials to vulnerable neighbors, including food, toiletries, and various seasonal items. The goal of the event is to provide dignity and care for seniors who often go unseen within the community.

The event utilizes chip timing for participants. Registered runners and walkers receive a race shirt, though availability is guaranteed only for those who register before specific deadlines in May and July. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race at a location to be determined, with additional pickup options available on the morning of the event at the park pavilion.
