Killin 10K & 5K

The Killin 10K & 5K is a road running event held in Killin, Perthshire. Originally launched in 2011, the event provides participants with views of local waterfalls and Loch Tay. The race routes consist primarily of tarmac surfaces with small sections on grass or compacted paths. The 10 km course includes 9.7 km of tarmac and 0.3 km of grass, while the 5 km course features 4 km of tarmac and 1 km of grass. A separate Fun Run is also available for younger participants.

Available distances include:

  • 10 km (minimum age 15)
  • 5 km (minimum age 12)
  • Fun Run (for ages 5 to 12)

The event utilizes electronic chip timing technology integrated into the race numbers. Participants have access to hydration stations along the routes, with three water stops provided for the 10 km and one for the 5 km. The courses are fully marked with yellow signs and staffed by marshals and medical professionals. There is no official cut-off time, and organizers support all participants until they cross the finish line.

Facilities at the venue include free car parking close to the start and finish, male and female changing rooms, showers, and a baggage drop area. Toilets are available at multiple locations including Breadalbane Park and the Killin Sports Pavilion. Following the event, catering such as soup, sandwiches, and home baking is provided at McLaren Hall to raise funds for local charity groups. All finishers receive a medal as part of their entry.
