Run Scotland Rannoch Marathon 2026
The Run Scotland Rannoch Marathon takes place in Kinloch Rannoch, Pitlochry. This event follows a route that was famously used for the Scottish Championships in the 1980s. The course was reintroduced in 2015 and has since become a fixture for endurance runners.
The race follows an accurately measured marathon distance of 26.2 miles. The route is entirely on roads and is classified as traffic-free. The course profile is undulating, taking participants along the north and south shores of Loch Rannoch, providing views of the local scenery and water.
The event uses chip timing to recorded results, though official positions are determined by gun time according to athletic regulations. The following distances are available:

Race registration and the event headquarters are located at Weller Poley Park. The venue provides a bag drop area, parking, and toilet facilities. Along the course, water stations are positioned every three miles, and distance markers are placed at every mile interval.
All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, and there are specific prizes for the leading male and female teams from UKA affiliated clubs.
