Altra Kielder Marathon Weekend
The Altra Kielder Marathon Weekend takes place in the Northumberland countryside, based around northern Europe’s largest man-made lake, Kielder Water. The event spans two days and features a variety of endurance disciplines primarily on off-road terrain and trails.
The marathon route consists of an almost entirely off-road course that circles the perimeter of the lake. In addition to the main distance, several other events are held throughout the weekend, including a half marathon, a 10 km run, and junior races. A gravel duathlon is also part of the program, offering options for both individual participants and teams of three.

The event provides a range of services for participants, including a secure baggage drop and a complimentary Park-and-Ride system. Spectators can access shuttle buses to various vantage points along the route with the purchase of a pass. Finishers receive a medal and a goody bag. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the winners of the V40, V50, and V60 age categories. Local produce and refreshments are available on-site.
