Stanhope 10 Miler 2026
The Stanhope 10 Miler takes place in Stanhope, County Durham on Sunday 23 August 2026. It is a non profit, plastic free event that raises funds and awareness for local charities. This year the chosen charity is Quinn’s Retreat (Registered Charity Number 1187899) and all money raised goes directly to the charity.
The race distance is 10 miles on a single lap. The course is multi terrain with an undulating profile, roughly 90% road and 10% grass or trail. The route leaves Stanhope with a steep ascent up Killing Me Softly Bank towards Bollihope, reaches a height of about 1300 ft, continues via Hill End and returns through Stanhope to finish at Stanhope Show field.
All participants must register at event HQ where race numbers are allocated. Participants should bring a drinking vessel as no water bottles or cups will be provided at water stations. Race HQ is the Stanhope Showfield agricultural shed. Facilities listed for the event include water, distance markers, toilets and baggage storage; there are no changing facilities or showers.
Marshals will be in place along the course and the route is signposted with quarterly mile markers. First aid trained personnel and course sweepers will be present. Entry fee for both runners and walkers is £24. Entry on the day is not available. Entry limit is 150 and places remaining were listed as 91. The event is an open road run and participants take part at their own risk. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs and the race licence is not applicable.
