Stanhope 10 Miler
The Stanhope 10 Miler is a scenic, multi-terrain running event held in Stanhope, County Durham, set in the heart of the Durham Dales. Covering 10 miles, the course features an undulating route with a challenging ascent up "Killing Me Softly Bank" to Bollihope, reaching 1300 feet, before looping back through Hill End and finishing at Stanhope Showfield. Approximately 90% of the route is on road, with 10% on grass and trail.
The event is plastic-free and supports local charities, notably Quinn’s Retreat, which aids those bereaved by suicide. Facilities include water stations, distance markers, toilets, and baggage storage, with marshals and first aid present throughout the course.
