Event Overview
The Stanhope 10 Miler is a non-profit, multi-terrain event located in the heart of the Durham Dales. This 10-mile route operates as a plastic-free race, with all proceeds donated to local charities. The 2026 edition supports Quinn’s Retreat, an organization providing support for those bereaved by suicide. The event has a total entry limit of 150 participants and does not allow for entry on the day.
Course Details
The course is a single-lap, undulating route that takes place primarily on open roads. The terrain is composed of 90% road and 10% grass or trail surfaces. Participants depart from Stanhope and navigate a significant ascent up Softly Bank towards Bollihope, reaching an elevation of 1,300 feet. The route continues through Hill End before returning to Stanhope. The run concludes at the Stanhope Show field.

Facilities and Logistics
The event headquarters is situated in the Stanhope Showfield agricultural shed. While there is no parking directly on the show field for participants, parking is available within the village of Stanhope. The route is marked with quarterly mile markers and supported by marshals.

This is a plastic-free event, and no water bottles or cups are provided. Participants are required to bring their own drinking vessel. Please note that there are no changing or shower facilities on-site. The run is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Registration
All participants must register at the event headquarters to receive their numbers. The event offers a timed running category and a non-timed walking category.
