Stanhope 10 Miler 2026
The Stanhope 10 Miler is a non-profit, plastic-free road and trail event that raises funds for local charities. The chosen beneficiary for this year is Quinn’s Retreat (Registered Charity Number 1187899). All money raised goes directly to the charity.
The course is a single 10 mile lap through the Durham dales around Stanhope. Runners leave Stanhope and climb a steep section called Killing Me Softly Bank toward Bollihope, reaching about 1300 ft, then continue via Hill End before returning through Stanhope to finish at Stanhope Showfield. The route is multi terrain and undulating, with approximately 90% road and 10% grass or trail.
Entry is limited to 150 places and the published entry fee is £24 for runners and walkers. Numbers are allocated at event headquarters and all participants must register there on the day. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs and it operates on open roads; participants take part at their own risk.
Course support includes marshals along the route, quarterly mile markers, distance markers, water stations where participants must bring their own drinking vessel, toilets, baggage storage and first aid trained personnel. Parking for participants is not available on the show field but is available in and around Stanhope. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
