Kids Cancer Foundation 5K Walk/Run in memory of a nine-year-old child
The Kids Cancer Foundation organizes a timed 5K walk/run at Commons Park in Royal Palm Beach, FL. The event honors the memory of a nine-year-old child and aims to raise funds to help families in the community who are facing childhood cancer.
The course begins and ends on the road by the water fountains. The route directs participants to stay on the outside of the path for the first segment, then move behind the dog park after about 1.25 miles. A water stop is located near the halfway point on the road. The final section runs around the back side of the park and finishes along the sidewalk by the golf range parking lot. Participants are instructed not to cross any bridges, as doing so goes off course.
Pre-race packet pickup is offered the week before the event at the Kids Cancer Center, 246 Royal Palm Beach Blvd, with specified pickup days in mid-October. Same-day registration and packet pickup are available at the park. Parking is planned on the grassy area next to the dog park.
Awards will be presented to overall winners, age group winners, and the Largest Team. A Fall Festival will run during and after the event, featuring family activities and games. The event supports more than 450 children and families battling childhood cancer in the local community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
