About the race
The 12th Annual Heroes For Education 5K is set for October 4, 2026, at John Prince Park in Lake Worth, Florida. The event is capped at 2,000 participants and includes in-person and virtual options.
Distances and event types:
- 5K: Run/Walk and virtual options; discounted school district rate available.
- 1 Mile: Kids 1-Mile Fun Run for ages 12 and under, not timed.
- 100 Yards: Kids 100-Yard Dash for ages 7 and under, not timed.
- 40 Yards: School Mascot Race for costumed Palm Beach County public school mascots only.
The event offers AccuChip timing for the 5K, finisher medals and high performance race t-shirts for participants in the 5K, Kids 1-Mile, and Kids 100-Yard Dash. Pricing includes discounted rates for School District of Palm Beach County students, teachers, and employees with ID; multiple registration tiers apply for the 5K. A referral bonus provides a $20 refund when five referred participants register. Prize money is awarded to schools through Heroes Awards and Fastest School Team Awards, and a fastest principal and fastest teacher award is included. Prize money for Heroes Awards goes directly to winning public schools for educational supplies. Packet pickup is available at Runner's Edge and other local locations in the days before the event.
