12th Annual Heroes For Education 5K
The 12th Annual Heroes For Education 5K is a community event on October 4, 2026 at John Prince Park, 4756 South Congress Avenue, Lake Worth, FL 33461. The event raises funds and awareness for public education in Palm Beach County and is limited to 2,000 participants.
Race options and distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk with chip timing
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run for ages 12 and under, not timed
- 100 Yards Kids Dash for ages 7 and under, not timed
- 40 Yards School Mascot Race for costumed Palm Beach County public school mascots only
All participants in the 5K and kids events receive a custom finisher medal and a high performance race t-shirt. AccuChip timing is used for the 5K run and race results will be posted and updated on race day. The mascot race offers a cash prize to the fastest mascot and a participation stipend. Heroes Awards prize money is awarded directly to winning public schools for educational supplies; top team awards include amounts up to $1,500 and several $1,250 awards for school categories. Fastest school team awards and new fastest principal and fastest teacher awards are included.
Registration opens May 8, 2026. Early pricing ends September 7 and prices increase on September 8. Discounted rates apply to School District of Palm Beach County students, teachers, and employees with valid ID. No refunds are available.
