KID-FIT Family Fun Run 5K & 1K - All Ages
The KID-FIT Family Fun Run 5K & 1K - All Ages takes place on May 16, 2026, at Legg Lake at Whittier Narrows (Parking Lot D) in South El Monte, CA. The event includes in-person and virtual options and features activities for families and youth.
Event distances:
- 5K - USATF certified and sanctioned, flat course
- 1K - for young children, includes a real medal
- Virtual 5K
Students from area towns are eligible to compete for scholarships awarded to youth age groups. Family events are scheduled after the running events. Pre-race packet pickup is available at Run With Us in Pasadena on May 15; a 20 percent discount on selected store items applies to signups or pickups during that time (not valid on sale items, with other discounts, or on Garmin, Theragun, or Coros products).
Course access notes include a parking fee at the venue: $10 per vehicle, $21 for buses, and $8 for seniors or disabled motorists. Registrations are accepted on event day via cash or online. Registrations made on or after April 15 are not guaranteed a shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
