Event Overview
The Keweenaw Ultramarathon takes place on November 7, 2026, at the Michigan Technological University Tech Trails in Houghton, Michigan.
Distances
The event offers two distances:
- 50K (headlamp required for the start)
- 25K
Course Details
The course uses trail loops within the Tech Trails system. The 25K distance involves one loop, while the 50K distance involves two loops. The route is marked with neon flags and crosses Pilgrim Road multiple times, with assistance provided for crossing. Aid stations are located at several points along the course, offering water, drink mix, and typical ultra-running foods. Participants must check in at each aid station by providing their bib number.
Logistics
Bib pickup occurs on the morning of the race. Parking is available at the main trailhead lot, with overflow in a nearby field. A community room and an outdoor tent are available for participants to leave drop bags and access gear during the race. Results will be published on UltraSignup.
Important Rules
Pacers are not allowed. The event enforces strict time limits, with all races concluding at 4:00 PM. This corresponds to an 8-hour cut-off for the 50K and a 7-hour cut-off for the 25K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
