Kentucky Derby Festival Race Weekend : April 24-25, 2026, Louisville, KY
The Kentucky Derby Festival Race Weekend takes place Friday, April 24 - Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Louisville, KY 40203. The event includes the Humana Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon and Marathon. The races start at Louisville Slugger Field in downtown Louisville and pass through several neighborhoods, including a run through the infield of Churchill Downs. The 2026 event marks the 53rd annual miniMarathon and the 25th annual Marathon. A post-race party occurs at the finish area. A 5K presented by First Urology returns for 2026, and a virtual miniMarathon and virtual Marathon option is available.
Distances and entry options
- 13.1 miles - miniMarathon; open to ages 12+; registration $75.
- 26.2 miles - Marathon; open to ages 14+; registration $85.
- 26.2 miles - Marathon relay for teams of 3-5; registration $325.
- 3.1 miles - 5K; open to ages 10+; registration $45.
- Virtual miniMarathon / Virtual Marathon - registration $50.
Race challenge options combine the 5K with the miniMarathon for $120 or with the Marathon for $130. The 5K was added in 2025 and allows participants to complete the KDF Race Challenge by running the 5K plus either the miniMarathon or Marathon.
