Course, logistics, and awards
All courses start and end within Anson B. Nixon Park. The 5K and 10K use a course that is about 70% on Kennett Square main streets and about 30% on park trails and roads; these courses include hills and flat sections and finish with a downhill segment. The 10K is two laps of the 5K course. The 1-mile course is flat for the first half, then has a couple of moderate hills. The Kids Pond Run is a flat loop around the park ponds.
PoweRun participants perform bench presses or pull-ups before running; each lift reduces the adjusted time by 30 seconds for the 5K and by 1 minute for the 10K. Awards recognize the fastest man and woman of each race and age-group winners for the 5K and 10K. Runners may receive recognition in only one race. Parking is available at Anson B. Nixon Park, Kennett High School, and the Kennett Square Parking Garage; shuttle buses run from the high school lot to the park. Safety rules prohibit unregistered entrants, dogs, strollers, rollerblades, bicycles, and headphones on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
